WOULD you like to help people seeking work get the most out of computing?

A Mid Devon work club needs volunteers to help less confident computer users.

IT Buddies give individual, one-to-one help – from basic computer functions, to searching for jobs online, setting up email accounts and applying for jobs.

The Work Club runs at the Hayridge centre on a Thursday afternoon, as a drop-in service for unemployed people in and around Cullompton.

The Work Club is looking for people who are friendly, outgoing and approachable.

They should have reasonable IT skills themselves, including using search engines and job sites.

Patience, empathy and the ability to explain things simply and clearly are more important than advanced technical skills.

Some training will be given in sources of information and how to provide effective support.

This position would be suitable for anyone looking to build up their own customer service and IT skills.

Working as an IT buddy would be an excellent addition to your CV, and is a great way to meet new people and learn new skills.
