JEWELLEWERY worth thousands of pounds was stolen during a raid in Honiton.
A woman staff member was attacked by the robber as she opened up at Bamwells, in High Street, at 9am today (Saturday).
The culprit stole a high quantity of valuables before making off.
Included in the haul were numerous bangles, bracelets , necklaces, rings, 30 semi precious and diamond pendants, around 300 rings set with diamonds and semi precious stones and various other items.
The robber was white, slim, unshaven, with short dark hair, aged 30 to 50.
He was wearing a blue coat, blue jeans, black trainers, a beige flat cap and was carrying a blue rucksack.
The victim was shaken but unhurt.
