PROPERTY developer Devonshire Homes, based in Tiverton, has reported a buoyant start to 2014 following a significant boost in sales.

The company’s sales figures for January mirror the findings of the Residential Market Survey for January 2014 by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Estate agents in the South-West have reported a positive start to the year with a significant increase in enquiries and buyers outstripping supply.

Managing director Steve Russell said the developer has seen a significant sales boost and higher than average new enquiries at its main residential housing developments in Devon, including Ginkgo Court and Gilbert Scott Way in Tiverton.

He said: “Our developments in Tiverton and Barnstaple are selling out fast, while the level of interest we have already received in our Trinity Court development in Exeter is exceptional – and this is even before marketing has commenced.

“The RICS survey findings – together with our own internal research – indicates that the South-West is an increasingly desirable area. We have already seen forward-thinking businesses like Crowd Cube established in Exeter, and technology firms such as Blur Group moving out of London to the city’s science park, and there is a real business buzz around the whole peninsula.

“The South-West can provide properties in superb settings – whether urban such as Bristol or Exeter or rural such as Tiverton – but the key point is that transport links make all the properties easily accessible, which is making our part of the world such a simple choice either for people who want to commute from major cities or those who want a second home.”
