A WILLAND mother of two has been pounding the pavements to raise money for her local pre-school.
Becky Strong is running the Bath Half-Marathon on Sunday to raise funds for the Friends of Willand Pre-School with the aim of raising £350.
The money will help buy more outdoor trikes and bikes for its 70-plus children.
It will be Becky’s first half-marathon and she has trained hard in bad weather around Willand while working in Exe-ter and caring for her children.
The Friends are a voluntary group of parents and carers started in 2012 to raise funds for extra items and experiences for the pre-school children.
The group has so far raised over £2,500, and chair Hannah O’Donnell said: “We’re grateful to Becky for all her hard work and commitment to training, and wish her masses of luck for the day, especially the weather.
“We’re holding a tabletop sale of toys to boost Becky’s fund-raising and hope all the money raised through her half-marathon will enable us to buy more outdoor items for the children at Willand Pre-school.
“To support Becky’s fund-raising efforts and help her to reach her target of £350, sign her sponsor sheet at the preschool or email willandpre school@btconnect.com to make a donation.
