Police are investigating a serious injury road traffic collision in Plymouth.

The collision occurred just after 8.00am this morning, in Craven Avenue with its junction with Beaumont Road in the St Judes area of Plymouth.

Involved in the collision was a lorry and a teenage female pedestrian.

The casualty has been taken Derriford Hospital with serious injuries.

The lorry driver appears uninjured but has also been conveyed to hospital for a check up.

The road remains closed whilst Collision Investigators carry out an investigation and diversions are in place.

This is causing delays for commuter traffic and drivers are advised to consider alternative routes.
