Plymouth Barbican is partly closed to traffic after a car was in collision with scaffolding in Southside Street.
Police and other emergency services were called at 11.45am after reports that the vehicle had been in collision with a pedestrian and had come to rest within scaffolding.
The male pedestrian sustained a minor hand injury.
The male driver was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. Details of injuries are unknown at this time.
Southside Street has been closed to traffic and may be shut for some time while the five-storey high scaffolding outside Platters restaurant is assessed.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area for the time being.
