HOSPISCARE is asking people to remember the local charity during the new year tidy-up, by donating any unwanted items to their local Hospiscare shop.

Hospiscare head of retail, Helen Hutter, said: “Hospiscare shops rely on the goodwill and generosity of local people to be able to raise the funds we need to support the thousands of terminally ill patients visited by Hospiscare nurses each year.

“January is often a time when we find ourselves looking for more space at home to fit in the presents we have received for Christmas.

“We are asking anyone who is clearing out the old to make way for the new or those who have received gifts they have no use for, to donate them to Hospiscare instead of throwing them away or storing them away in the cupboard.”

Hospiscare has 19 charity shops across Exeter, mid and east Devon.

Run by volunteers and shop managers, the shops help the charity to raise some of the £4.5million it needs each year to continue funding its nurses who care for patients in the community and at the hospices in Exeter and Tiverton.
