Police investigating an attempted burglary at a garden centre in Teignmouth are appealing for witnesses.

Jack’s Patch Garden Centre on Newton Road, Bishopsteignton was targeted on Monday 6 January 2014 between 9.10pm and 9.40pm.

Police believe five suspects were involved and they were travelling in a silver Vauxhall Corsa and black Vauxhall Astra.

The police helicopter was called to assist in the search for the suspects.

The Corsa was stopped later in the Bristol area and three male suspects were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary by officers from Avon and Somerset Police and taken into custody in Bristol.

They are aged 16, 17 and 18 and are all believed to be from the Bristol area.

Two other suspects are outstanding at present.

Sergeant Sara Middleton, from the local investigation team, said: “It appears they attempted to enter the property by forcing the doors at the rear but fortunately they didn’t get in.

“Someone in the area at the time may have seen a group of men acting suspiciously. If you have any information that could help please let us know.”
