FIRE teams were called to reports of a live electricity cable near a thatched property in Exeter this morning (January 5).

Fire control received a call from the resident of a thatched property in Rockbeare at around 6.30am stating that a live electricity cable was arcing in the eaves of their roof.

Two fire appliances, one from Middlemoor and one from Danes Castle were sent to attend.

Crews assessed the situation and stood by as there was no fire at this time. The electricity board attended to isolate the power.
