Police in Dartmouth are appealing for witnesses following two serious assaults that took place in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

At around 1.30am two men were assaulted in Dukes Road, near to the Market House Inn.

Three male suspects punched two other men to the ground, rendering them unconscious.

Members of the public intervened and the suspects ran off down Victoria Road.

The two male victims, both in their 30s and from London, received broken cheekbones in the assault. They were both taken to hospital for treatment.

The descriptions of the suspects are as follows: one man 5’8”, of skinny build, with brown hair, wearing a grey fleece and a grey t-shirt; a second man 5’8”, of skinny build, with blonde hair, wearing a blue and white striped hoody and the third man - 5’9”, of bigger build, wearing a grey t-shirt.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to please make contact on 101, quoting crime reference JH/14/03.
