A 17 year-old young man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm following an incident in Plympton.
The teenager was arrested early this morning, Monday 9 December, and staken into police custody at Charles Cross police station.
Police in Plympton had asked for help from the public after an 18-year-old man was seriously assaulted in the town.
The incident took place at around 9.15pm on Wednesday, December 4 outside the Ridgeway Service Station on Ridgeway.
The local victim entered the service station to buy a sandwich and as he left was assaulted by a group of three men in what was an unprovoked attack.
He was knocked unconscious, sustaining bruising to the brain, a swollen upper lip and loose upper teeth.
