Appeal for wildlife volunteers in South-West
2:00pm Sunday 17th March 2013 in News
A CALL for people in Mid Devon to become wildlife response drivers has been made by a wildlife rescue charity in the South-West.
Secret World Wildlife Rescue says there are not enough response drivers around the region to recover and transport wildlife back to its base, near Highbridge.
Charity founder Pauline Kidner said: “We rely on people who have found wildlife casualties to bring them in themselves once they are satisfied they have been truly abandoned but, if this isn't possible, often we are required to send a response driver to collect the animal.”
She also appealed for donations to help with the cost of fuel for the charity's two ambulances.
