Man in courts over nuisance 999 calls in Plymouth

A 52 year old Plymouth man is due to appear before Magistrates in the city this morning (Thursday) charged with making nuisance telephone calls.

Steven Chown was arrested after 9 telephone calls were made to the police via the 999 system between 10.50 p.m. on Tuesday 19 and 12.45 a.m. on Wednesday 20 February 2012 reporting various crimes.

Officers attended and arrested the suspect near to the Cuba nightclub.

He was interviewed before being charged and kept in custody overnight.
