A PERSON was rescued by firefighters after a vehicle ended up in a river.
The fire service was alerted that occupatns were in the 4X4 after the incident near Mole Cottage, Chittlehamholt, Umberleigh, at about 12.30pm today.
Crews from Chulmleigh, South Molton and the Specialist Rescue Team from Barnstaple attended.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Upon arrival crews confirmed one 4X4 vehicle had entered a fast flowing river with two persons originally inside the vehicle, but one of the occupants had waded to the bank.
"Fire crews rescued the other occupant using a boat."
