A LORRY laden with cattle caught fire between junctions 28 and 29 northbound on the M5 motorway.

Fire crews were called to the incident, involving a lorry carrying 8 cattle, a little after 4am this morning (Tuesday, December 17).

One of the tyres caught fire due to overheating brakes and was extinguished with water.

None of the cattle or the driver was injured.
