JEREMY Browne has been out on patrol with the police to see how crime can be tackled in local communities.
Mr Browne, the MP for Taunton Deane and a Home Office Minister, said: “Crime levels have fallen in Somerset and Wellington is generally a safe town with a strong community, but we need to keep making extra efforts to tackle crime and protect people.
“Wellington has a good law enforcement team of police officers, PCSOs and special constables and community groups like Neighbourhood Watch also play an important role in keeping local areas safe.
“At a national level, I am also working every day in Government to make sure we have the law we need to reduce and prevent crime.
“I want all Taunton Deane residents to feel safe in their homes and secure in their communities.”
