Rubbish from a former landfill site exposed on Devon beach

A raft of 1960s rubbish from a former landfill site has been exposed by erosion on a south Devon beach.
A line of plastic bags can be clearly seen at Leas Foot beach at Thurlestone, after autumn sandbanks and cliffs being eroded.
Campaigners are calling for a cleaned up to be carried out to protect against pollution amd to safeguard.
Campaign group Surfers Against Sewage has warned that any rubbish getting on to the beach presented a danger of "ingestion and entanglement" to wildlife.
Birds can get tangled in plastic and turtles can eat plastic bags thinking they're jellyfish.
Devon County Council, South Hams District Council and the Environment Agency have been contacted by the BBC, which said that none of the organisations said they would take on responsibility for any large-scale clean-up or programme to prevent erosion.
