Car fire forces road closure

POLICE closed the A386 near Merton this morning (Saturday) due to a car fire.
Fire crews from Hatherleigh were called to the blaze just after 10.30am.
They extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.
The road has been reopened.
