A TIVERTON charity which provides support for people living with life-threatening illness is looking for fund-raisers.
Hospiscare supports hundreds of people who are dying and their families and carers each year. and this year, the charity needs to raise £4 million.
Trustee of Hospiscare Jeremy Filmer-Bennett said: "Hospis-care has three specialist nurses based in Tiverton who visit patients in their own homes, giving dedicated support to families."
"Last year, the team looked after over 125 patients in Tiverton and Cullompton, making an estimated 1,500 home visits.
"We need the support of people in Tiverton to help fund these nurses, who provide care for free when it is needed most."
And support group co-ordinator Barry Carpenter said: "Our fund-raising groups tell us that raising money is good fun, that you know you are doing something worthwhile and that it is a privilege to help.
"We know that we simply could not raise all the money we need every year without them, and we are confident there are people in Tiverton who will take up the challenge."
Anyone interested in helping Hospiscare is invited to Blundell's School, Tiverton, on Monday at 7pm.
CONTROVERSIAL plans for redeveloping land in Tiverton town centre were finally given the go-ahead by planners on Wednesday.
PEOPLE in Mid Devon with long-term health conditions are set to receive free support from trained tutors.
