Personal Overview - Conservative ex-Minister who had the misfortune to be an Agriculture Spokesman when the BSE crisis came to light. Has career interest and experience in manufacturing industry and small business. She was initially retained by William Hague as a Spokesman in the Opposition team. After briefly returning to the Back Benches for family reasons, she advanced to become Shadow Leader of the House of Commons in the last Parliament, before being removed in 2001 and being made a party Vice Chairman, a role she has retained.
