Kim Kardashian has revealed she is voting for Hillary Clinton in the US presidential election following reports she was considering backing Donald Trump.

The reality TV star posted a statement on her website after she was quoted as saying she was “on the fence” about which candidate to support.

In her statement, Kim, 35, said she had decided to back Democrat Hillary after “careful consideration” of issues important to her and her children’s future, including gun control and women’s rights.

She said: “I found that without a doubt, I stand with Hillary. I’m with her. I believe Hillary will best represent our country and is the most qualified for the job.

“This year, I’m not just voting for myself, but also for my children, and I took that into careful consideration when I made my decision.”

Kim admitted at one point she had not been “100% sure” whether to vote in the November 8 election but changed her mind after speaking to her closest friends and family.

She revealed she had a long conversation with Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, her stepfather, who encouraged her to research before deciding which candidate to support.

Kim added: “Now that I have made my choice I want to be clear… I would never judge anyone based on their political or religious beliefs. I believe that both candidates have the intention of making the country a safer and stronger place for every American, they just have different ideas about how we get there.

“God bless America for allowing us to even make these decisions – there are so many in this world who are not so privileged.”
