The MTV VMAs line-up just got a boost of star power added to it in the form of Beyonce.
MTV confirmed the singer will be performing at the Video Music Awards in New York.
They tweeted:
The Lemonade singer leads the pack with an impressive 11 nominations.
She’ll face competition from Adele, who has eight nominations, and the pair will go head to head in the video of the year category.
Adele is nominated for her smash-hit single Hello, while Beyonce has been nominated for her Black Lives Matter-themed video Formation.
Rihanna will receive MTV’s highest honour as she is presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, MTV’s equivalent of a lifetime achievement honour.
Kanye West, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears are among the past recipients of the award.
Rihanna, who is the youngest solo artist in US chart history to score 14 number one singles, will open the VMAs with a medley of some of her biggest hits.
Kim Kardashian had fans guessing as she posted about presenting an award to someone on the evening.
Fans speculated as to who it could be, with Britney being the most popular choice.
Britney will give the first performance of her single Make Me from her new album Glory.
Kim did clear up whether it was her husband, Kanye, telling fans:
