AN ambitious and groundbreaking one-day conference on the sustainable use of timber in the building and design industry is to be held in Exeter this September.

Organised by Woodfair South West and the Haldon Forest based Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World (CCANW), the conference will both inspire and inform delegates, clearly showing how timber can be used to deliver modern buildings that are strikingly beautiful in appearance and highly efficient in performance.

Anyone involved in designing, specifying, constructing or refurbishing buildings is welcome.

A series of seminars and displays led by the people behind some of Europe's most stunning timber buildings, will cover a wide range of topics and issues including engineered timber products, planning, climate change, self-building, affordable housing, and timber strategies and resources in the South West.

The conference will also include a range of exhibitors, covering timber framing, wood energy, timber flooring, doors and windows, timber cladding and shingles, engineered timber products such as glulam and SIPS, timber producers and millers, architects and designers and sustainable construction.
