BURNHAM-ON-SEA RNLI crews have assisted with a charming marriage proposal near the Low Lighthouse.
The branch's Deputy Press Officer proposed to his other half of almost 20 years with the assistance of RNLI volunteers.
The Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat displayed a 'Marry me Kelly?' banner, and the shallower draughting D-Class allowed volunteers to come ashore and congratulate the couple.
A spokesperson for RNLI Lifeboats at Burnham-on-Sea said: "After nearly 20 years together, our Deputy Press Officer decided there was no better place to get down on one knee than here on our coastline in front of the unique Lower Lighthouse, with the added help and backdrop of fellow volunteer crew members aboard Burnham’s Atlantic 85 and D-Class inshore lifeboats.
"Blessed with the great weather and calm sea state, this extra 'tasking' was on the way back from Sunday’s training launch on exercise with RNLI Weston-super-Mare.
"Utilising the expert help of our two helms Scott and Marc, DLA Phil and all volunteer crew onboard, the plans ran exactly to schedule - with the shallower draughting D-Class even able to nose-in for volunteer crew members to come ashore on the beach and share their congratulations."
